The new guy

Post by Colin on Sat Oct 17, 2009 2:35 pm

Hi All

Thanks, Lisa for the invite. It is always good to see a new Reiki forum. Very Happy

Nice to meet you all!

Now for the introduction:

I am a Reiki practitioner and teacher in the UK (Greater Manchester) and have been so for over 11 years now. I have been on the internet, since then, in many Reiki email groups, and forums so some of you may have "seen" me around. I have my own website (Reiki: pure & simple http://homepage.ntlworld.com/reiki.colin/reiki.htm) and a Facebook page with the same name.

I am particularly interested in the history and development of Usui's Reiki system and try to teach and practice as closely as I can to the traditional Japanese way, which is not easy because there is so much misunderstanding and misinformation around about Reiki. I was originally attuned to a form of Usui Shiki Ryoho and my quest for the roots of Reiki led me to also becoming a certified teacher in Gendai and Komyo Reiki. I am also currently at Okuden level in Jikiden Reiki and was fortunate enough to visit Tadao Yamaguchi, whose mother was taught by Dr Hayashi, in Kyoto last year (2008) for some training. Whilst there I visited Mikao Usui's grave and memorial and also went up Mount Kurama, where Usui sensei first had his inspiration to begin Usui Reiki Ryoho - it was a very memorable experience that I will always treasure. Very Happy

Hopefully, forums like this can help sort out the real deal, whilst also providing useful extra techniques for those that wish to pursue them (I know not everybody wants to stick to the original ways and that is fine by me as long as stuff which is added in is identified as such!)

Hopefully, I won't be the "new guy" here for too long! Laughing

Dear Colin,

What a wonderful suprise to see you here in this new Reiki Forum.

It is really an honor to have such a valuable Traditional Reiki practitioner here.
You have so much to bring to others.

It must have been such a great experience being on the trace on Usui sensei!

Welcome, dear Colin.
and thank again for your presence.
