Yoga liability insurance guards against unknown variables

Post by NACAMSStaff on Fri Apr 20, 2012 10:11 am

Depending on the type of yoga you practice, your focus may be on the feet, hands, ears or even the full body of your students—or perhaps a bit of all of the above, based on the individual client and his or her needs. No matter the focus of your yoga teaching studio, however, there is a common thread that runs from one professional yoga business to the next and so on. This common thread is the need for yoga liability insurance.

There are several reasons yoga liability insurance is a necessity for professional yoga teachers. The first and possibly most important reason to possess yoga liability insurance is simply because you may be legally required to have such a policy in place before you can begin offering your services in exchange for a fee.

Of course, the specific laws or regulations will depend on where you live and work, but in quite a few areas, professional yoga teachers may be required to possess yoga liability insurance.

Other kinds of coverage you should receive with the right yoga liability insurance policy include professional liability insurance, also known as malpractice liability insurance, yoga teacher insurance, and product liability insurance. These two forms of protection are there to offer the necessary financial coverage in case a client ever claims damage or injury due to a lack of skill or competence on your part as the professional yoga teacher, or due to a product used during one of your yoga sessions.
