Risks exist inside the studio

Post by NACAMSStaff on Fri May 18, 2012 7:35 am

If you stop to think about it, there are actually far too many ways in which a client might get hurt during his or her session at your yoga studio. Of course, any kind of severe accident is quite rare, but still, the risks are apparent. Fortunately, there is a safety net designed specifically to guard against these risks— yoga teacher insurance.

Comparing yoga teacher insurance to car insurance is one way to easily understand why such a policy exists and why professional yoga teachers need this type of insurance. When you are driving your vehicle down the road, chances are you will not get into an accident. However, the risks are apparent—one wrong move from you or another driver and you could find yourself in an accident, big or small. Therefore, drivers are required to carry automobile insurance.

Applying this example to yoga teachers, the risks inside a studio may include any number of things. There could be a wet spot on the floor that causes a client to slip and fall, breaking a bone or suffering some other type of injury. In this instance, you would need the general liability portion of your yoga teacher insurance policy to kick in to provide financial coverage and assistance.
