Insurance coverage key for yoga professionals

Post by NACAMSStaff on Thu Aug 23, 2012 5:53 am

Across the board, most yoga instructors share a common drive to help their students regain a certain freedom of movement that is directly tied to health, wellness and overall quality of life. Taken as individuals, yoga teachers each tend to have a different focus for this work, whether it is ergonomics in the work place or another area of life, health promotion and safety, disability management and case coordination, or some other aspect of healthy movement and living.

With health and wellness at the foundation of one’s career as a yoga teacher, it may be difficult to determine why yoga insurance would ever be necessary. However, if you take a few minutes to look closely, the reasons one would need yoga teacher liability insurance quickly emerge. For starters, in many places where yoga teachers practice, possessing proper yoga insurance is simply a requirement—be it by law, by employer, by regional governing board, by a certain insurance company, by a professional organization, or via some other regulating entity.

One of the best parts about yoga teacher liability insurance is that it doesn’t have to cost a lot. You can find a solid policy for less than a couple hundred dollars per year.
