First Reiki experience

Hello, everyone. I just wanted to tell someone this story.

Out of curiosity, I suppose, I made an appointment to get Reiki'd (?) by someone in the area.
He informed me he was a master, and had been for three years. I forgot to ask if he used it daily.
His eyes were very clear, bright, soft and steady, so he struck me as someone who was spiritual and knew what he was doing.

I didn't know what to expect from the session in forms of sensation. As I laid down, I tried to be calm and meditate, but my general anxiety caused my thoughts to be somewhat unwieldy. To be honest I was nervous about what he could tell from my energy.

At one point I contemplated what it means to have this negative view of my heritage, which caused some sadness which soon passed. A few other times I smiled.

I didn't feel much of anything though, in terms of heat or otherwise, and I definitely wasn't relaxed. At the very end though, when he moved his hands over me to finish, I felt a coolness over me, so I guess it was coming through.

In the end he informed me I was a 'fire-body' but I was withholding my fire and needed to find a release and a balance for it, through physical exercise or other. Good advice.

I couldn't look him in the eye afterwards. I was embarrassed that he had seen my energy. He asked me if I felt okay and I said no. He asked me if I wanted to talk about it and I said no.

I think I will go back. They also have classes and I'll probably try to get attuned.

OK, why would you feel ashamed? We are as we are and move forward. Reiki energy KNOWS already what you hide or don't hide because it is intelligent. Just let it do its thing and heal you. I would schedule more sessions or try to find a Reiki Circle in your area.

A Reiki Master really doesn't do anything. He's just the vessel. The energy coming through is the one that does things. This I know as I'm constantly being amazed by its wonderful action.

Just accept it for what it is.
